Approval was received in June 2026 for a 45 unit + commercial, 6 storey Multiple Dwelling and Short-term Accommodation build on Bribie Island after a 7 month Impact Assessment process.
This approval provides more housing and short stay options for people on Bribie Island. The design is fantastic, with active ground floor retail, highly articulated units and an expansive rooftop communal open space, offering views over the sea.
Insight Planning and Development pulled together and coordinated the entire development team, engaging with Council in pre lodgement meetings to ensure a well made application was put forward, with the application process as smooth as you could hope it to be. The results speak for themselves.
The site is was not without its challenges, with flooding, level changes and an irregular shape all needing to be managed. Justification for the use also required a detailed economic needs report, which demonstrated the significant shortfall in short term accommodation and housing on Bribie Island, demonstrating the need for this important project.
Throughout this application process and in approving the application Moreton Bay Regional Council have shown a high level of support for providing more homes in the region, and for boosting the economic development of Bribie Island and surrounds. A commendable attitude and a great result for the people of Moreton Bay.
